Cabezalgo Reserva

Grape varieties:90% Tempranillo, 5% Mazuelo, 5% Graciano.

Production process: The grapes are handpicked from our best vineyards. Once optimum ripeness has been reached, they are harvested by hand and promptly transported to the winery. Following destemming and crushing, they are fermented separately in small, temperature controlled, stainless steel containers. Once the fermentation has been completed, the grape solids are pressed, which is a soft and slow process to extract all the potential (aromas, colour and ripe tannin), which the grape accumulates prior to harvesting. Once the malolactic fermentation has been completed, the wine is aged for approximately 20 months in new and semi-new oak barrels, of which 50% are American and 50% are French, and then to finish, it is bottled and rounded for a minimum of 18 months prior to being made available for purchase.

Tasting: Intense deep red cherry colour and medium-high depth. Its nose contains a range of red and black fruits– currants, raspberries – in perfect harmony with subtle and creamy woods. It is flavourful to the palate, and rounded with strength and structure.

Serving temperature: 16-17ºC.
